WHAT'S GOOD IN LONDON?

Londoncalling!!! Zrrrrrrr...

How to travel like a local? We have prepared a list where you can spend time like someone who lives there locally! Stay locally but tourist destinations are inevitable, sure. We wanted to remind you that you should focus on the content rather than the main topics! It is not satiety by eating, but the satiation of the soul! Now that we remember the doughnuts by Bread Ahead at Borough Market, we realized that we shouldn't say that... Ok, let's start our LDN tour where we will sit in the parks with pleasure while we are doing an art and culture tour, try delicious things and explore a lot. Our Top 20 list!
 London Eye-Photograph: @artandtownmag

  1. South Bank London:
           Konditor-Photograph: @artandtownmag
When our courses were in the Waterloo area it was really great to get our croissants and coffees from Konditor (lovely team-still remembered <3) in the morning and spend time before class starts at Jubilee Gardens with our friends! Therefore, our first suggestion to you would be a very local one, of course! This place is by the London Eye and the view is amazing! It is also very enjoyable as an outdoor activities-events and walking area! We think you should definitely experience it!
P.S. Please try: Konditor's Brownie Bites + Croissants + Gingerbread Men Cookies (according to your taste)
  2. Southwark:
           Doughnuts by Bread Ahead-Photograph: @artandtownmag
You walk in Borough Market and you see everything... delicious! Alsop & Walker, Jumi Cheese on one side and doughnuts from Bread Ahead on the other! Hard to decide on one specific but you can do it :)
  3. Knightsbridge:
           Harrods-Photograph: @artandtownmag
Even though everyone thinks of shopping when Harrods is mentioned - and we have no objection to this - but we will have another suggestion for you too: Halcyon Gallery. Located on the 3rd floor of Harrods. When we visited here for the first time, we were fascinated by Chihuly's Light Drawings, whom we know with his incredible installation works and sculptures that he made by focusing on glass! Until that day, we had no information about the light and color works he did! Light Drawings... They were amazing, still in our mind! We hope you are as lucky as we are during your visit! No doubt :) And don't forget to drink coffee at The Coffee Bar before or after your visit!
  4. Portobello:
           Arancina Pizza-Photograph: @artandtownmag
+ "Oh My God!! Where did you get this?" This is a place where you can heard this question a lot and give the following answer: Portobello!
Now we come to the largest antiques market in the world: Portobello Road Market!
This tour will make you hungry! So let's take a walk but wait... what is that? Delicious pizzas are gushing towards you from inside an orange car: Arancina Pizza. What was the famous influencer proverb? Oh yes, now we seem to remember: "You can't make everyone happy you're not pizza." But Arancina Pizza can make you happy! Another suggestion would be Los Mochis Notting Hill, with its unique flavors that create a wonderful place with Mexican-Japanese blending.
  5. Hither Green:
Those who live in or around Hither Green will surely know, Mountsfield Park is a great park for morning or evening walks and jogs! A park where you can take a drink from Mountsfield Park Cafe, do yoga or do nothing and just sit in touch with nature! We weren't always going to recommend famous parks, right?
  6. Camden Town:
Dutch Pancakes at Camden Market-Photograph: @artandtownmag
Everyone remembers this place with the different designs on the facades of 235 Camden High Street buildings! We remember one more thing... Dutch Pancakes at Camden Market! It's a place where you'll go street by street with Dutch pancakes, see Little Venice, and meet colorful and creative urban art.
  7. LEON:
You can close your eyes and randomly choose anything from the menu. But our recommendations are Korean Chicken Burger or The Jerk n’ Jam Chicken Wrap and LEON Baked Fries! The choice is yours, but don't leave London without experiencing LEON! -pleaaaseee :)
  8. Skyline:
           The Shard-Photograph: @artandtownmag
For those who want to see London from above, we have two suggestions: The Shard and Sky Garden. Both are located on both sides of each other -they are not close to each other- so the choice is yours! Two venues that we are sure will fascinate you with their unique scenery!
  9. Leake Street Arches - Graffiti Tunnel:
A tunnel where everyone goes hoping to meet Banksy, but sees many different talents together. You must see! We mean the tunnel, we can't make any promises for Banksy :)
  10. Piccadilly:
           Royal Society of Chemistry-Photograph: @artandtownmag
It's a great day for you to visit the Royal Academy of Arts! Whenever you read this, you can adapt it for that day! If you have time and the time fits, be sure to visit the library of the Royal Society of Chemistry! After that, be sure to stop by Fortnum & Mason, which is within walking distance! Instead of the chain stores that you can find in every country, we will recommend places such as Fortnum & Mason that have not compromised on quality since their establishment. Although it seems to be in the foreground with its afternoon tea selections, one of our few favorite things is Piccadilly Salted Caramel Biscuits! We have no doubt that you will fall in love with their boxes no matter what category you look at! Maybe you want to consume the biscuits right after your walk in the park! Which park? The choice is yours... Hyde Park, Green Park or St James's Park! It's quite hard to put one ahead of the other :)
  11. Trafalgar Square:
           The National Gallery London-Photograph: @artandtownmag
You got out of the tube, walked a little bit, and you're at Trafalgar Square! In the famous square! Where would you like to see first, because if you randomly enter a place, you can find yourself in the museum :) Which museums can you see? For example: The National Gallery (our favourite <3) and the National Portrait Gallery... But don't just visit the museums and exhibition areas, please visit the museum shops as well! This way, it may be difficult for you to leave the museums :) In the meantime, don't immerse yourself in museums and neglect the others! We will have another suggestions! We'd love for you to stumble upon a concert event at St Martin-in-the-Fields! If you don't come across the concert, be sure to visit St Martin-in-the-Fields, a surprise work will be waiting for you inside the building. We've shared content about it before, you can check it out here!
We were really impressed at first sight, and we were even more impressed when we learned his story! Also, if the date and time are suitable, we definitely recommend you to get tickets one of the performances at Her Majesty's Theatre!
  12. St James's:
           Maison Assouline-Photograph: @artandtownmag
We can't give up on backpacks because of our book shopping! Because otherwise we think it is not comfortable. Even if we think that we will pick them up later or have them shipped later, we can't stop buying them. Does it happen to you too? Well, then we have a few suggestions for your book shopping: But first, be sure to check out the street view of glass showcase facade of Hatchards Piccadilly! You will meet with showcase art! You can continue your book shopping tour with Maison Assouline and Waterstones! While shopping for books... Like time is running out. Be careful! :)
  13. Gordon Square:
Looking for a place to take a break? Or to read a book? Then we go to Gordon Square. This park really gives peace of mind. At least that's how you feel... Right next to the park is the entrance to Dr Williams's Library. If visit hours fit and you can visit, we definitely recommend you to see it!
  14. Shakespeare's Globe:
Check out Shakespeare's Globe's What's On list! In fact, match your dates to at least one on the list! Needless to say, just a suggestion! :)
  15. Cromwell Road:
           V&A Museum-Photograph: @artandtownmag
We continue our museum visits with V&A Museum, Science Museum and Natural History Museum. They will be worth your visit with their unique structures as well as their collections! The museums are not far from each other, we leave the order of visit priority to you!
P.S. Especially sitting in the garden of the V&A Museum, look carefully around you and the structure.
  16. Afternoon Tea at Claridge's:
It's time for afternoon tea! Whenever we suggest it to someone, they say "so cliché!" and then they do it! :) Because it really is a exclusive experience! It's like... you're traveling through time. Londoners in Wonderland! Well... we meant to say they are at Claridge's.
  17. Great Russell Street:
Time for British Museum... It can be too crowded at the entrance. However, this is one of the places that many people visit just to see this museum. That's normal when you think about this way... It is a museum that will surprise you in terms of its collection range. Another suggestion is the Grant Museum of Zoology, a university museum. This museum is part of University College London.
  18. Bankside:
           Tate Modern-Photograph: @artandtownmag
You probably wouldn't have thought that you would complete your art and culture tour without seeing the Tate Modern! This is the best example of a museum transforming its region -in a good way-! We say this as museologists, yes! While you're here, we suggest you experience this one as well: Although you can do this at the piers close to you during your visits but if you are here, we recommend to discover London by taking the Uber Boat by thames clippers from Bankside Pier. Explore London from this way too! Maybe there are things we missed! :)
  19. Soho:
Let's take a tour around Soho. There are places that we want you to see while you're here that have nothing to do with each other. That's the purpose of the list anyway. If you are a Harry Potter fan, there is one more place we would like you to see before our next topic: House of MinaLima! Before we go, let's explain why we recommend it, here: "The design studio behind the graphic props of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, founded by Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima". We weren't wrong, were we? Let's walk... This time we came to The Photographers' Gallery. There are incredible photographs! Seeing so many talents in the same place at the same time will bring you to yourself. And let's get into the colorful world by visiting a toy store. Toys and games aren't just for kids, admit it! Of course we came to Hamleys! Can we say that pizza and Hamleys have something in common? Those who can make everyone happy and thus come together around common values.
  20. Harry Potter Studio Tour:
Warner Bros. Studio Tour-The Making of Harry Potter-Photograph: @artandtownmag
When you step into the studio... We have to say that you getting caught up in the spell of the movie the first time you start watching the series. Oh right, the spell!
    - "It's leviOsa, not levioSA!"
It wouldn't be possible to complete our art and culture tour without seeing the works by the Art Department at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London-The Making of Harry Potter, right?

    Bonus:
           Stonehenge-Photograph: @artandtownmag
If you can include it in your plans, we recommend seeing Stonehenge, and while you're there, visit the Salisbury Cathedral and you'll be amazed by both! Tag us in your photographs while drinking your tea or coffee at Boston Tea Party Salisbury, we wonder what you've seen! We think we will not be able to stop ourselves if we continue a little longer... :) Then see you on our next destination!

20 MUST-SEE MOVIES AND DOCUMENTARIES ABOUT ART AND MUSEUMS

We can't always watch Rick and Morty and Inside Job , right? ... Right? (Deep silence) Anyway, we should take a break and look at the world of art and culture. Isn't it an ideal day for a dinner and movie duo? (You can adapt it to whatever day you read it) You ordered a delicious meal or cooked that delicious meal that you had in mind since last night , looking for something to watch while you eat it... A TV series? Definitely not... So how about the movie? We already know that it will not end at the same time as the meal - it never progresses in sync, but we should not give up trying - we still made a list. Many movies and documentaries are waiting for you, from those who drink tea with Mussolini to the most famous museums of the world! Here is your list of films and documentaries about art and museums that you must watch : MUSEO (MUSEUM) (2018) Directed by: Alonso Ruizpalacios Starring: Gael García Bernal, Leonardo Ortizgris, Simon Russell Beale, Lynn Gilmartin, Alfredo Cas

NEW TYPES OF MUSEUMS NOT ACCEPTABLE BY ACADEMICS: POP-UP MUSEUMS AND NFT MUSEUM

One of our museologist academics who also contributed to the construction of many museums and one of the active names in ICOM, stated that she never thought of Pop-Up museums in the category of museums and refused to teach about them within the scope of master's program courses. She doesn't even mention NFT and museums anyway. Do you think that academics' rejection of a type of museum category is reason enough to ignore that type of museum? Of course not. We started talking like Graham Hancock in the Ancient Apocalypse series . Why might some museum categories have difficulty gaining acceptance? What depends on the acceptance of a museum's genre? Based on the data, we mentioned that there are over 104,000 museums in the world. This number is increasing and there are various categories of museums in the world. Do you know the types and categories of museums? Even if you knew by now, new types of museums are still emerging, for example, have you ever heard of the worl

SUSTAINABILITY IMPACT IN SPORT AND CULTURAL TOURISM: FIFA MUSEUM AND FIFA WORLD CUP 2022

Hyundai Motor Company today opened the FIFA Museum in Doha, Qatar. Sport tourism can be defined simply as travel to a destination to experience sport. It is leisure-based tourism that takes people temporarily outside their home environment to participate in or watch physical activities or venerate attractions associated with physical activities (Gibson, 1998). Sport is unifying. It evokes many emotions in people. Therefore, it has always been able to maintain its importance. Sport in general, and major sport events in particular, have a special role to play in supporting sustainability. Building venues and infrastructure, gathering hundreds of thousands of people from all corners of the globe, accommodating and feeding them has an inherent environmental impact. Whilst the footprint is hard to determine quantitatively over an extended period of time, according to official figures, the FIFA World Cups in South Africa in 2010 and Brazil in 2014 generated close to 2.8 millions tons of CO2e
